Does the machine hosting your forum send email by any other ASP script using the same JMail settings?

By what means does the administrator get notification?

when i set it to CDONTS i get this error when posting (the post is actually successful) a post:

Server object error 'ASP 0177 : 800401f3'

Server.CreateObject Failed

/functions/functions_send_mail.asp, line 153

800401f3

when i set it to CDOSYS i get this error when posting (again, the post is actually successful)

CDO.Message.1 error '80040213'

The transport failed to connect to the server.

/functions/functions_send_mail.asp, line 136

Im actually thinking of moving to another free forum because  of this because the people who require it need it very soon.
Many thanks for your help though!
Ali.

yeah sure, sorry that I hadn't.  I will be leaving instructions about removing profile information soon also, still have a very small problem, date and time being stuck 12.00 with the year at 1899. I think it is because I removed "time offset and Date format from the forum preferences, any ideas???

Here is how i fixed:

"Set email component to use: CDOSYS (Win2k/2k3/XP Pro)

Outgoing SMTP Mail Server to localhost (but try leaving it blank, see if it still works)

That was it!

If i am not wrong time offset can be over written within common.asp but that is not the problem you are facing. Anyway try enabling the timeoffset and date fields and then only comment the html code showing these settings. Check lines 1780-1823.

Fixed the timeoffset, it was not in the common.asp it was within the register.asp
I had deleted but did not know that it was alter the server time and date so it is fully working now.
