I am doing a site design that is on a dark blue background but I'd like a light forum with black text (similar to the default) as it's easiest to read and use IMHO.

The problem I have is that there are styles (e.g. smText) that are used outside the tables that "float" on the main page background, that are also used inside the forum tables.  However I would like the text to be white outside and black inside the tables.  Thus they really need to be 2 different css classes.

I have started to modify the code but this is something I wouldn't really want to do each time a new release comes out.  Is there a way of requesting changes?  I'd be happy to do the work and submit it for the next release?

Has anyone else come across this?

Cheers

The problem is ...
There is text inside and outside the tables on every page of the forum that use the same CSS class, but the BG of the table and the BG of the page can bee 2 radically different colors. This means that you can have text that is unreadable in one of the two areas. Separating the 2 areas into 2 different CSS classes would allow you to set up the classes to have 2 different colors. He is willing to make the change once but doesn't want to make the chane for every sibsequent version of the forum.

Given the lack of interest in this I'm assuming that this idea went down like a lead balloon.  I think this is a shame as it makes the design more flexible but hay ho.

boRg, can you please confirm this isn't going to change so I can start devising a new colour scheme please.

Thanks

Tim

I'm not planning at the present time to change it, if I have time it may well happen, but it's not top priority so proberly won't happen for a while if it does. I want to start concerntration on an ASP.NET version.

You could use more specific selectors in the css file to change the colors of the text.

Such as
.smText

and
table.smText

I am not sure it will work, but it won't hurt to try!
