I like the idea of having a forum where people can rant about sh*tty software. But i do feel for the developers that have customers post bad reviews, because i can understand that some are real reviews, and some arejust from people that just dont understand how something really works and just makes up whatever they want to make something look bad.

I know exactly what you mean. And I do expect that there will be some unfair posts.
But I think that more or less, most will be on the level.
I'm pretty careful before I rant, and try to make sure that I'm giving a fair assessment.
There is one post in there right now that is kind of fair and kind of not fair. I know the software and that it works under the right conditions. I've tested it.
The problem is that the developer didn't create the software with enough robustness to cover a large number of cases that will be fairly common. I know what they need to do, but again, I don't think that they will actually do it in a reasonable time frame if at all.
Now, as a developer I know what the problems are, but users won't. It's very very far from reasonable to expect a user to know that deep rooted problem. It either works or it doesn't. Again, this boils down to the developer being careless and negligent in developing the software.
The developer never specifies the right conditions at their site, and that's a problem because now it doesn't work as advertised. Not a good thing. There's something to be said for being upfront and honest when presenting your software to people for sale.

By all means - rant away~! I've taken some flak from some people over the site. I don't think that they quite get how good it feels just to scream sometimes. It's soooo cathartic! And there just aren't many places that you can really say what you want to sometimes.

I'm amazed that The Boss hasn't chimed in on this thread.

One product I absolutely loathe is Norton AV (In fact anything Symantec).. their antivirus is as slow as sh*t and is about as useful as a chocolate tea pot. and we all know how useful a teapot made of chocolate would be.

Don't get me started on Norton, it's as bad if not worse than most viruses (virii?). It's almost like it needs a processor of it's own as well, even with a dual core it still drags any chance of multi tasking away from your grasp
