Okay, so I noticed that the common.asp file in my root directory was much smaller than the file in my backup, so I replaced that common.asp file with the backup. Now I'm getting THIS message:
Active Server Pages error 'ASP 0126'
Include file not found
/common.asp, line 249
The include file 'admin/SQL_server_connection.asp' was not found.
More as it develops.

Okay This may be something to do with a simple folder management issue When I get onto your homepage and to the left you have links such as When I hover the mouse over Forum, your link shows as : http://forum. and not forum/ With a forward slash

I think you may have forgotten to put the login info into the server.connection file. Username, etc

I'm finding all sorts of things wrong or missing now. Hard to imagine it was working fine when I first logged in this morning.
After I got the message that mentioned, "admin/SQL_server_connection.asp' was not found." I discovered that I didn't have any "admin" directory anywhere but in a very old backup, so I'm uploading that.
Not too optimistic about this..

It may be possible that somehow your actual server has been corrupted. When you login into your server, can you see all your files there, or just bits and bobs?
Maybe, just maybe, you should delete the ENTIRE forum folder, then upload version 9.50 as a fresh install. As long as you set up your connections file properly, it should allow you to connect to the forum Remember though you should not leave your admin/SQL_server_connection.asp file there anyway for security reasons

I've been thinking about doing that. (upgrading to 9.5) Do you know, can avoid re-uploading my large directories full of images?

Did you get my PM nshel?
I think you would only need to upload the forum itself, since everything else is stored on a database, including I assume the images you are referring to The rest of your site is unaffected, its only the forum isn't it?
