Topic: Suggestion on CAPTCHA and login Posted: 24 January 2006 at 2:35pm |
Is there a way to remove the "CAPTCHA" when people log in?
I think it would be a good feature to be able to choose where you want it. Whether on the login, registration page, or both.
Thanks man, keep up the great work!

It would be good if we could decied when to turn in on and off.
I would like to have it so it is used on sign up but not when user log in.
With the current system it is on or off.

I would recommend using it more on the login page than the registration page as it not only protects against spam and remote submission, but dictionary hacking on the admin account.
There is the option to disable it from the admin section, but this is only for those determined that they do not want it.
The number of people being hacked is increasing and it is always because the person has not secured their forum.

People always moan about extra security till they are hacked, and then they always wish they had used it.
Improvements are being made to the CAPTCHA image, with re-load button etc. and the codes are not case sensitive, which should make them faster to type in.

^^ borg I understand the importance of this CAPTCHA thing for the security of the forum.... bt yeah its true dat sometimes its kinda irritating for teh users too.... just a suggestion if ther is any way that reugular user can login without the CAPTCHA thing and if u tyr to login to the admin account ..the forum will use CAPTCHA ..well i m not sure abt the tecnicalities .. this just came in my mind .. this way security and user comfort bot can be taken care of ....
