It sounds like Brinkster may require you to use authorisation for it's mail server to relay on non local email addresses.

You haven't mentioned what email component you are using!!!???

But you need to select an installed component form the admin area that can use SMTP authorisation, like CDOSYS then enter in the SMTP username and password supplied to you from Brinkster.

Hi Borg I am using AspEmail with the authorisaten username and password from brinkster.

A test form with ASPEmail and to other then brinkster users works

I really don't anderstand it i the admin zone seems to be everything ok I haved take a look to the code and see that the forum is using the authorisation.

I try it with all themodules there was only one didn't have a error and it was ASPmail but i didn't tecieved the email

Can it be tath i still do something wrong

It sounds like issues with the way Brinksters mail servers are setup, which doesn't supprise me with Brinkster.

Try contacting Brinkster.

I have my own web server that is hosting the forum. I have installed default SMTP on the server and have it set up correctly for outgoing emails using my logon and password for my ISP SMTP server. I went into admin area to set up email and entered the SMTP.ISPProvider.net in the appropriate field. I also made sure that it was set for CDOSYS since I run Windows Server 2003. Emails are not working. Also when I try to use the email a friend about the forum link, it gives me an error message:
 error '8004020e'

/forum/functions/functions_send_mail.asp, line 198

I am not sure what is going on. Any suggestions? Thanks.

This is a topic on using version 8 on Brinkster.

Your post seems completely off topic as you would not get an error message like you mention in version 8.

Please post a new topic in the correct forum

but i can't send emails,
it tried all the supported mails

Ps.

All of them give me the following error

Server Error in Forum Application
An error has occured while sending an email.
Please contact the forum administrator.

Support Error Code:- err_Access_send_mail_footer
File Name:- functions_send_mail.asp

Error details:-

The server rejected one or more recipient addresses. The server response was: 550 5.7.1 <3assem@gmail.com>... we do not relay

i don't know, shall i fill the username of an email hosted by brinkster , or my brinkser's account username and password  ??

Contcat Brinkster about this as it looks like they have setup their email server to not relay on some or all emails.

They should be able to give you an idea of what settings you need to set so their SMTP servers will relay on email.
