you cant stop mods from deleting posts as far as i know.

if you choose "delete posts" in the forum permissions this only relates to their own posts, but if you tick the "moderate" box then this will over-ride it and they will be able to delete posts and topics.

any way to track what people do?
So if they delete a topic its gone forever?

if thats the case i think WebWiz needs an enhancement to not delete a topic completely.

you COULD mod the forum to email you if a post is deleted, maybe even with the post.

i understand why you would want webwiz to be enhanced but, if your worried your moderators will delete posts they shouldnt, maybe they shouldnt be a moderator

If using SQL Server you can take incremental backups which may help in a pinch if you need to restore a topic and associated postings from a test database.

ohiopbx got point. I think WWF should add a field to db which will store user ID of the person who requested for the deletion. Default value 0 will indicate no one is requesting deletion. And if the value is grater than zero, admin can delete it completely.

Not that exactly above process has to be done. But it will be better having some similiar feature.
