In our forum, over the past few months, when you click on "X New Posts" (next to the topic name), it does not bring you to the newest posts, it brings you somewhere in the middle of the thread. It's like the "New Post" function is continuously cataloging the same spot in a thread as the newest post. For example, you might have a thread that is 10 pages long, and if there are 3 New Posts, when you click on (3 New Posts) it will be bring you to page 5 - over and over again. It never seems to recognize the new posts.

Very frustrating for our users.

This can be caused by the web browser you are using caching the redirect to the newest post.

What browser are you using?
Does this occur when using a different browser?

It is only happening in the past month, and by nearly all users. So it's hard to know which browsers it's happening with. Personally, I use Chrome and it happens regularly.

If you have not already try upgrading to the latest version to see if that resolves the issue for you.

It's hosted. I think Version 11.04.

This has been the same for my forums too, seemed to happen when I upgraded. Lots of users reporting it on a mixture of browsers.

There have been no changes for a few years to the way the New Post links work.

Are also not able to replicate this issue in the lab.

I suspect though that to speed up load times the browser is caching the redirect, which means every time you click the link it uses the previous redirect instead of loading the updated redirect.

Could you find out affected browsers and versions of those browsers?

It maybe a case of updating the links in Web Wiz Forums to add a random number to the link to get around browsers caching the redirect.
