Noob Alert! Any Help Greatly Appreciated

First off Hi.
Im HobbitCy.

Id like to start off saying how much your site has help me

though lets get right down to it , what does this noob want?

well i dont want anything really , im just asking if someone has the answers to some questions

1. how do i get the Emoticons to be linkable to the posts ?
2. in the quick log in box i have a white background with white text, how can i change it to black background with white text?

any help would be greatly appreciated
oh and dont get me wrong iv searched the forums and iv read most of the post, iv been reading around on this site for a couple of weeks now

i dont have  a nav_button.asp file anywere there wasnt one in the zip

linkable = click the pic and i get the pic in my message like you do here when you click the sad face you get the sad face in your message

there are no other lang files to add that i know the language too
