I see many references in this forum to a utility for upgrading an existing WebWiz installation to 7.70. I am currently at 7.0beta0. Is there a utility that I can use? If so, where do I look for it?

Never heard of v7.0 beta 0.

What version is it that you are trying to upgrade from?

There wasn't a version 7.0 beta 0.

Beta versions, as it said on the download page, where for testing purposes only and not for live web sites, so there is no upgrade available , your only choice is to go through the version history file looking for database changes and make those changes to your database manually, then update all the files in your forum.

Quite so.  I'm at 7 beta 3.  My site is not yet live, but I have been testing for a couple of months & would prefer not to lose my existing data or have to go through too much grief in the conversion.

Version 7 beta 3 was a beta version from more than a year ago and was never intended for live web sites as it was for testing purposes only and had a number of bugs and security issues.

Upgrading to the latest version won't be simple and it will probally be easier starting afresh with a new install of the latest version.

Thanks for the advice so far.  I apologize for my ignorance, but what is likely to result if I just overwrite the v7.0beta3 files with v7.7?  Is there a way to test the result without bringing down my test forum?  I've found the 6-->7 conversion utility.  Perhaps I could try running it in a test environment?

Any suggestions welcome!

If you can't use the database from the latest version go through the version hostory text file and make the changes to the database manually.
