The problem with most voice recognition software is it needs training to your voice. You do this by reading story text information that the software gives you to read, into a mic. By doing this the software knows the words you are reading and now will place the sounds you have made to the correct words. The more times you train the software, the more it will get accurate.
This means that if you play a CD into a mic the software may not hear the words correctly and all strange things may go on as it types it on the screen as it will not recognise the voice. The only way you can get round this is to get the person that created the voice on the CD to read and train the software.
I know this is true with office XP professional but I don’t know about IBM Via Voice but most software like this is the same.
Hope this helps you.
