Topic: Web Design/Developer Salary Posted: 12 February 2003 at 5:40am |
Just a few questions...
What would be the average pay on a project for a web designer and a web developer?
Also does anyone know salary on a 'per page' basis?

it'd kinda help if you mentioned "where", as that is the number one factor on pay (cost of living)
for instance, a 50k/year job in Florida might be a 75k/year job in California due to how much more expensive it is to live out in Cali...
i'd probbaly sign up for a site like monster.com and look through some of the job postings to get an idea of what people make and where

well... you could start out by charging $500-$600 per hour, and then move your way up.
If I were you, I would just set an hourly rate (based on your skill level) and go from there...

I never charge by the hour, because I dont think you could really prove how much time you did spend on a page, i.e your front page you might of spent 2-3 hours and that means you have already charged £900,
So i would suggest charge by the page for a normal page (a few graphics) £40
For Heavy Graphical page £60 a
And for Flash you decide

That is how much I charge Departments at my school to make their intranet websites, that is if they want custom scripts etc. For normal websites I don't charge much less than that. I was advised to charged that amount by one of my IT teachers who said that was how much decent designers charged. I am surprised so many of you are schoked by these prices.
My problem is I don't have enough time to accept all my possible contracts!
