	I have a need to identify who is using our site and blocking people who are banned. While this can be done to a degree with user account blocking and IP/Subnet blocking, the number of public proxy hosts out there make this taks nigh on impossible. How about a proxy filter list (similar to web blocking software)?

	MaxMind GeoIP can be used to ban IP address used by anonymous proxies, but it is not free. They give you a database with millions of IP's listed in it, which you need to subscribe to so you have the latest database each month. You can then ban people based on their IP address location, or if they are using an anonymous proxy.
