Archive - Forum Topics

I did a search and found no real answer so here it goes...

I'm looking for a mod or need help developing a mod that will Archive old topics and convert them into html files. It would be great if in the Topic Admin to check a box that would create a html file with topic name and all data. This file would be save in a Archive Topics Directory which would have a main search able archive page.

Wow, that a lot to ask for... plus, the topic would be automatically closed.  Manual deletion of the topic could be preformed after a check to make sure the file was converted properly.

Right now I manual closing the topic, using the  print topic function to create the html file, saving the file, edit file to add a description, and post this file to a directory.  I'm using a search feature that will search the files.  Anybody have any ideas or have seen any features like this?

At present my db is 13.6 mb, I'm looking to reduce its size.  Yes, it has been compacted, but would I not reduce size my archiving files to html files? The reduction in db size should keep forum running faster.  At lease, that is the assumption I going by.

Doing a "Batch Close" and "Batch Move" doesn't reduce db size does it?

Would not the data still be in the db; and the db would still be the same size?
