Hi guys
I will sound like a complete NOOB but
I want to migrate from 7.x to 8 and before I run the tool I gotta back up the Database.
I have a dedicated Win server with shared SQL server. I don't know how I can back up my data before I upgrade.
Can anyone help?

The way I usually back up an SQL Server database is to install SQL Server on my own PC then use Enterprise Manager to backup the database to my own PC.

I don't have SQL Server now, can I do it with Access 2003 or is SQL a must?

You can't with Access.

Why not download the free version of SQL Server from Microsoft?

Or, if you have a shared SQL Server, check with your host to run an actual backup at a certain time. My host setup a backup device pointing to my own folder (web directory) so I can down and upload backup file via ftp.
